Adelaide Sherman

Adi’s journey reflects a rich tapestry of personal and cultural experiences that shape her artistry. Born and raised in Hali’imaile Maui, she developed her artistic talents early on, encouraged by her supportive mother and hardworking father who both worked at Maui Land and Pineapple. After high school, Adi pursued design studies in California but found her passion in traveling and connecting with other artists, which inspired her to explore pointillism.

After settling in Kauai and having two children, she returned to Maui, where she discovered henna art and became a proud grandmother of one. Adi’s unique designs blend Polynesian tribal elements and personal narratives, allowing her clients to express their individual stories. In 2014, she founded Maui HIBred, celebrating her diverse heritage through her art.

Since teaming up with Alpha Maui in 2017, Adi has contributed her designs to various apparel while continuing her henna practice. She also plans to release coloring books for both children and adults, promoting creativity and mindfulness. Adi’s vibrant spirit and dedication to her craft make her a cherished figure in her community, embodying the true essence of Aloha.
